We're pregnant!

I did not have time to update my blog these past few months.  I guess I was just too lazy to update it.  Lately I have been thinking of writing again to chronicle my pregnancy.  Yes, I'm pregnant!  If my phone app is correct, I'm 7 weeks pregnant today.  I would be more accurate this Saturday when I will have my first ultrasound.  Excited? You bet.

I actually thought I would not want to get pregnant again.  My twins are already five years old.  I'm having fun in my dance and yoga classes.  I've been quite busy with other things as well.  I've started traveling once again.  And I remember how difficult my first pregnancy was.  So getting pregnant was at the back of my mind.  My husband, however, wanted to have one.  I also actually wanted a baby girl but I had a lot of hesitations.  And so we tried.  I stopped taking pills and started taking folic acid.

I did not have my period on the day it was supposed to arrive.  I took a pregnancy test, it was negative.  That was a Thursday.  I took it again on Saturday, again it was negative.  So on Monday, I went to by OB Gyne for a consultation.  She actually told me that an erratic period is one of the effects of long term pill use.  So she prescribed me a medicine in order to start my period, with the warning to take it a week after Thursday and with a further warning to take a pregnancy test before drinking the medicine.

So I told myself, okay.  Maybe this was just one of those erratic period thing.  I have until next Thursday to start taking the medicine.  I went on with my activities.  I danced.  I did yoga.  I went to work.  The usual stuff.  But I was actually very concerned with my swollen breasts and my constant craving for Caitlyn's Siomai (hahaha!).  Our office secretary was actually already thinking that I'm pregnant.

On Tuesday of the next week, a co-teacher of mine told me that her first pregnancy test was negative.  It only became positive a week later. Delayed something, her OB Gyne explained.  Oh, okay.  High hopes for me!  Maybe by Thursday.  And of course, I was not that patient to wait until Thursday.  I bought a pregnancy test Tuesday night.  Woke up at 4am to take it (first pee of the day!), and lo and behold, two lines.  I had to rub my eyes.  Twice. Yeap, two lines.  We're pregnant!

I went back inside the room and lied down.  I whispered to my husband, "I have two lines.  I'm pregnant."
