We're Almost 4!
Wow! I can't believe I last wrote on my blog on January 14. It's been like more than 15 days since I last wrote. So much for a blog a day, right? But I have been too busy lately with work (sigh) and this makes me terribly guilty of sometimes neglecting the twins.
The twins' birthday are coming up. We decided last year that we would just have a mini-party at home, a quiet family affair. However, at the early part of this year, I had a change of heart. Kids only celebrate their parties while they're young right? So this year, we're planning a mini-party either at McDonalds (At another branch, not the one at Abreeza. If you've been following me, you'll know why.) or Jollibee with their friends and playmates. Less adults, more kids. That's what we're planning to do this year, invite kids (and of course, the adults that will accompany the kids.)
Time indeed really flew so fast. I can't even believe that they're both soon turning 4! Sometimes I tell them, "Can you both be mama's babies forever?", to which they would say, "We're big boys already Ma!". When they were still babies, I was excited to see them grow up. Now that they're growing up, I want the growing up phase to slow down. But then again, that's not how the world goes. As parents, we're supposed to let them be. Teach them and guide them to face this world, which at times is harsh. And then when it's time to let go, we let them soar to whoever and wherever they may want to be. Sniff, sniff. Do you also feel that way?
And so to my precious twins who are almost 4, we're once again going to sing next month:
"Today's the big day that comes once a year- it's your birthday. The day is near. The party's gonna be greater than great, it's your birthday, let's celebrate. Light a candle, make a wish. Cake and ice cream so delicious. Open your presents and play games too, it's your birthday. Let's celebrate!"
