Aga's 2nd Birthday

Image
January 11, 2012 marks the 2nd birthday of my one and only niece, Aga.  However, since it was a Friday, her parents decided to celebrate it on Saturday, the 12th at Yummy's (my go to party place!).  I only get to see my niece a few times each year since they are based in Iloilo.  However, despite this predicament, I think she remembers me.  She would allow me to carry her so she definitely knows me.  Hahaha.  Remember, kids at their age are very pihikan .  They do not want anyone they don't know carrying them.  And oh, what I love best about her being here is her play dates with the twins.  And yes, she remembers them and they remember her.  Nice right?  They definitely know each other.  I just do not want to know what usually happens when 2 rowdy 3 year old boys plays with a 2 year old girl.  I think it's a bit crazy.  When they're at home, it's crazy with the girl emulating the twins' every move.  And I think...

December 2012 with Cousins

When I was younger, what I loved most about Christmas was the annual pilgrimage (?) of our relatives to Davao.  Wherever they are, they would come to Davao, for our annual Christmas reunion.  I actually grew up with this tradition.  It stopped when our Amah died.  It was a bit lonely at first but then I got used to the idea.  And then, they started to come back, bit by bit. Last Christmas, almost ll of the  came over to visit.  Aunts and cousins from Zamboanga, and a cousin and his family from Singapore.  Before they started arriving, you can already feel the excitement as my Be-i (youngest aunt) was already busy preparing our itinerary.  She was of course very busy planning our overnight stay at Samal.  Where to stay?  What to bring?  How much will it cost?  Hahaha..  She was really a busy bee. We had our overnight stay at Villa Amparo.  We had dinners at an aunt's place and at our place.  My cousins ev...

Last Travel for 2012

Image
Our last travel for 2012 was to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. My mom was able to get tickets for the Davao-Puerto Princesa direct flight at a promo rate. So off we went with the rest of the group, Mom's staff at Digos City. I don't have much pics. I guess when we travel we forget to take pics because the kids are on top of our priority. We have twin 3 year old tots who are very active. So it's either somebody takes the pic or we are not really able to take pics (sniff, sniff). In moments when we are able to take the pics, we do it hurriedly because the kids won't really stay put for long. But sometimes, when I think about it, I guess what's more important are the memories we create rather than the pics we are able to take. Palusot! So our travel itinerary consisted with: Day 1: City Tour Day 2: Underground River Tour Day 3: Honda Bay Tour Day 4: Flight Home. If you ask me though, on a personal note, Puerto Princesa is not really a good place to bri...

New Blog Look!

After much thought and consideration, I finally decided to change my blog look. I've been using the dynamic view for quite some time now but then the artistic side in me (I have, you know) is squirming for change. So I reverted to the classic template. I hope you like it because I like it a lot. I spent the whole morning arranging everything. Have fun reading! Cheers to 2013!

Happy New Year!

Happy new year everyone! We've been kinda busy during the holidays. My cousins and aunts arrived from Zamboanga, and my cousin and his family from Singapore also arrived. So there, we had a very booked Christmas. We went to the beach twice, one at Villa Amparo for an overnight stay, and the other one at Paradise, for a day tour. I guess Villa Amparo did not really live up to our expectations that's why we had to just enjoy Paradise Island. We shopped until we dropped (courtesy of our aunts), and we ate, a lot! We watched "The Hobbit" at IMAX and almost occupied one whole aisle. Hahaha.. That's how many we were. It was surely one fun holiday season where we all bonded and enjoyed each other's company. Is it time to plan for December 2013? The year 2012 was definitely one of the best. I guess every year is better. But 2012 was a bit special for me. I started solo private practice in the last part of 2011. I struggled a lot, persevered, learned, ...
