Another Step, Another Milestone...

Yesterday, the twins had their first ever Buwan ng Wika celebration.  Another step, another milestone.  They danced Mamang Sorbetero.  They practiced every night since last week, ever since they discovered that the song can be found on YouTube.  The Kinder 1 students all looked so cute in their Filipiniana outfit- the boys in camisa de chino, red pants and red tubao and the girls in their floral skirts and kimono.  Here's a picture of them in their Filipiniana attire.

Cute little kids..

Now I'm writing to tell you that my youngest has a crush.  Another step, another milestone.  I don't know what he means by crush since they're still 4.  But a lot of people are telling me that kids nowadays start having crushes at a very early age.  I had my first crush at age 9, when I was in Grade 3.  And my son is still 4 and at K1.  I guess he is now learning to appreciate the beauty of the opposite sex.  Hahaha.

But the thing that touched me the most was how he said it.  He tugged at me and told me, "Ma, I want to whisper something to your ears."  I know it was important because this is how we talk about important things.  They whisper to my ears or I whisper to their ears.  "Ma, crush ko si Zoey."  I did not laugh.  I smiled, although deep down inside I was stressed out.  A crush at 4? He's growing up, I think faster than it should be.  But I let it be.  I did not want to reprimand because there's nothing to reprimand.  And also, I'd want him to continue sharing with me his thoughts and ideas.  I want him to know that it's alright to talk to Mama, no matter how babaw  it may seem for adults.  I want him to know that he need not hide secrets from Mama. When all the furor subsided, the youngest said, "Mali pala ako Ma.  Hindi si Zoey crush ko.  Si Sabella pala."  How cute is that?  And my ever supportive husband said, "Yes Shot.  Go for Sabella!" Hahaha..

The one in green is Zoey while the one in stripes is Sabella.

What about you, do your kids have crushes too?

    1. Agree :) Supportive lang ang father kasi boys eh.. But if these were twin girls, I doubt if he would be that supportive..
